Well, it wasn't easy but nothing worthwhile ever is. But this feature is available now in the app, so make sure you refresh to the latest version in the App Store.
The following are the steps required to display your boat tracks in the 361 Fishing App. We took every measure to make this as easy as possible.
While the instructions here are for Garmin, most modern day chart plotters have the ability to export your data as a GPX file. That's what we need - the GPX file. Step 1 below is specific to Garmin, but just replace that step with your own (if different). We will add instructions for the other popluaredevices when we can.
It starts at the Garmin device. We need to get the tracks in GPX format.
Make sure you have an SD card in the unit. Garmin requires these things be 32GB for some reason. That's fine. You can get this for $14 at Walmart or Amazon here.
On the unit: User Data → Manage Data → Data Transfer → Save to Card.
First set the file type to GPX: Info/User Data → Data Transfer → File Type → GPX, then save again. This writes GPX files to the SD card that most apps can read.
Take the card and connect it to a PC or Mac using an adapter like this for $9. Browse the SD card on your computer and you should see the file in Garmin\GPX\<your file here>. Now you have access to the GPX file.
Send an email to us. Note the address is NOT @361fishing
Subject: load my tracks
(The subject must be that exactly - "load my tracks")
Include your .GPX file as an attachment
- the file name doesn't matter as long as it ends with .GPX
- send the email
- wait for email response to include your 7 digit code (takes about 20 seconds depending on the size of your file). The email looks like this:

In 361 Fishing App, click on the Options button on the map.

On Map display options, tap "load tracks file"

Enter the 7 digit code you received in the email, and then toggle "Show tracks" on the display options. That's it!

Swipe down to close the options window and you'll see the tracks displayed on the map.

Have fun with this! Compare your tracks with your friends or even share your tracks code with them and they can see it in the app on their own phone. Awesome stuff! If you need assistance with this, please email support@361fishing.com I'll even meet you at your boat if you're having problems and we'll get it figured out.
If you want to test it out with my tracks, use the code 1vzfjwN
Also worth noting is that your tracks are encrypted and private. We can't see them or even know who's tracks they are. The only way that they get shared is that you shared the code with somebody. You can use this awesome feature with confidence.
